Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the Modi government of “corruption and criminal negligence” in recent infrastructure projects. He highlighted several failures, including the roof collapse at Delhi Airport Terminal 1 and leaks at Ayodhya Ram Mandir. In a post, Kharge criticized the Modi government’s infrastructure, saying it fails like a “deck of cards.” He listed problems such as roof collapses at Delhi and Jabalpur airports, poor roads in Ayodhya, leaks at Ram Mandir, cracks in the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link road, bridge collapses in Bihar, and the submerged Pragati Maidan Tunnel. Kharge claimed these issues reveal the truth behind the BJP’s “World-Class Infrastructure” claims and criticized PM Modi’s self-praise during the Delhi Airport Terminal 1 inauguration.

Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu clarified that the building Modi inaugurated is not at Terminal 1. He announced compensation for the victims of the roof collapse, where the incident killed one person and injured six others. Naidu said he is monitoring the ongoing rescue operations. The roof collapse affected flight operations, prompting SpiceJet and IndiGo to cancel flights temporarily. Due to heavy rain, the Delhi Metro closed entry and exit at a nearby station and suspended shuttle services to Terminal 1.

Amid the monsoon, Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s roof leaks. The temple’s chief priest expressed surprise and concern, noting water leaks near the Ram Lalla idol due to poor drainage. This situation raises doubts about meeting the July 2025 construction deadline for the Ram Temple.
